'St. Cloud' Leading Lady Gets Cast

Many of you may already be aware of this, but it was recently announced that Amanda Crew has joined Zac in The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.

Amanda Crew has signed to star opposite Zac Efron in "Charlie St. Cloud," Universal's supernatural romantic drama that's being directed by Burr Steers. Marc Platt is producing.

An adaptation of the Ben Sherwood novel, the story centers on a cemetery caretaker (Efron) who has weekly meetings with his younger brother, whose accidental death he blames on himself. He meets a young woman (Crew) believed to be missing in a sailing accident and begins a romantic relationship with her but soon wonders if she is an apparition on the way to the next life.

"The Insider" confirms Zac Efron is hanging out with the boys of "Entourage."
The 'High School Musical' actor filmed a cameo appearance on the show, which is set to return to HBO for its sixth season on July 12.
"Entourage" stars Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven. Piven won his third acting Emmy Award last year for his role as Ari on the show.
News of Efron's "Entourage" cameo comes after he accepted an MTV Movie award on Sunday night for Best Male Performance for his work in 'High School Musical 3: Senior Year.'

Zac Efron: I’d like to make an album one day

Zac Efron has revealed he’s planning to release a solo album someday - but he’s going to concentrate on acting first.

The 17 Again star rose to fame singing in the High School Musical films and explained recently: “I’ve always been a fan of music. I love it.

“It’s my life, but at the same time, it’s not necessarily my passion to an extent where I want to create it and put it out there.

“I think that potentially it could be someday.

“I think the day I could make an album is the day I could write and produce it on my own terms and when I have the skills and wisdom to do it.”

Matthew Perry miraculously transforms into Zac Efron's body in the all-new comedy '17 Again,' in theaters April 17, and Zac spills the beans on what it's like to go back to high school again!
In '17 Again,' Matthew plays a thirtysomething father and husband whose once-bright future was sidelined by his girlfriend's pregnancy. Not only are there no more High School Musicals in his future, but he made international headlines last week when he pulled out of the Footloose remake.

"It doesn't mean no more musicals forever, but right now I had so much fun doing 17 Again that I think that's the direction I wanna head in," Efron told me at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

And it certainly sounds like he's taking another step in that direction with The Death & Life of Charlie St. Cloud...

It was just announced that Efron has signed on to the movie adaptation of Ben Sherwood's novel of the same name about a cemetery caretaker who communicates with his dead younger brother. Efron admits the premise "sounds very grim," but promised, "It's a fantastic story."

"It's a little bit more grown-up," the 21-year-old Efron said. "It deals with some heavy material."

Is there any advancement?” Bush asked. “I wish I could confirm it was anything but a rumor, but I haven’t heard it,” Efron said. “I wish (it) would happen!” Efron said of possible fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean,” which Johnny Depp is reportedly in talks to star in. “If you guys want to make it happen, I’m here!” As for a sequel to “Hairspray,” Efron said he’s game for that as well. “At this point, they haven’t really talked to us yet, but I know that it’s an idea that they’re developing,” Efron revealed. “And, it sounds like fun… it sounds like a good idea.”

Final Word On "FOOTLOOSE"

Several of you have been inquiring as to exactly why Zac decided to drop out of the upcoming Footloose remake. Last night he apparently told Entertainment Weekly just that.
In about as polite a manner as he could muster, teenage heartthrob Zac Efron confessed to EW.com why he said no to the Footloose remake: He didn't want to be type-cast as the musical guy. In Las Vegas to receive the Showest Breakthrough Performer of the Year award, Efron confirmed what many in the industry had speculated. "I'm sure Footloose would have been a huge challenge," Efron said, "but the actors that I love and the actors that work really hard in this industry are always shaking things up, trying new genres, acquiring new skill sets. Zac Efron is in Australia this week for the premiere and promotion of his newest movie 17 Again.

Zac Efron New Photo Shoot

For his upcoming spread in Interview magazine, Zac Efron was part of a steamy shoot involving a naked model laying on top of him.

About the shoot, Zac says: “There was, like a giant sandbox in the middle of a studio. And then I just got to roll around in the dirt for a couple of hours. I got pretty dirty by the end of it, so that was fun.” It’s fun for us too, Zac.
